2010 Census of Population and Housing (2010 CPH)

May 2010 ha been declared as National Census Month through Presidential Proclamation 2028. Batas Pambansa Bilang 72 (BP 72) accords the National Statistics Office the authority to conduct population censuses every ten years beginning in 1980 with May 1 as the reference date. The conduct of the 2010 Census of Population and Housing (CPH) will start on May 17 and will last for a period of 3 weeks or until June 11. The census is designed to take an inventory of the total population and housing units in the Philippines and to collect information about their characteristics. The census is aimed to provide goverment planners, policy makers and administrators with data on which to base their social and economic development plans and programs.

Section 4 of Commonwealth Act 591 (Ca 591) guarantees that any information obtained during the census enumeration shall be CONFIDENTIAL.

The National Statistics Office requests all goverment employees to extend their assistance in the 2010 census by accomplishing the census questionnaires for their households. Conduct of publicity. Any further assistance in facilitating the conduct of the census in their communities will be highly appreciated.
