In his report to Labor and Employment Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III, Director Raymundo Agravante of the DOLE-Regional Office No. 10, said the Misamis Occidental Provincial Field Office (PFO) led the awarding of financial assistance to 10 associations.
The grantees, according to Director Agravante, are the Deboloc Farmer Association/Kababayen-an sa Brgy. Pato and 4P’s Association for the Swine Fattening Project, which received a total of P1.2M; CARPBA Federated for the Palay Trading Project, with P500T; and Organic Farmers’ Association for the Agricultural Farm Production of Agri-Tourism Project, with P1.5M.
The Women Federation, Plaridel Federated, BNS, BHW, Lampurnas for the Fish Processing Project, also received P1.3M; while the PWD, ERPATS, SENIORS and KALIPI for the Bigasan, General Commodities and Dried Fresh Vending Project, received P1M; and the PECCA for the Mud Crab Culture in Mangroves, got P500T.
Completing the list of beneficiaries are the Tricycle Drivers’ Association for the Motor Spare Parts Trading Project; Mamonga Gamay; Cartagena Proper Farmers’ Association for their Organic Rice Production Project; MADARC MPC for the Rice Duck Culture and Duck Egg Production; and Quineccka for the Cacao Production Project.
“The BUB promotes inclusive participation in community development by empowering civil society associations to be engaged in the budgeting process,” Misamis Occidental PFO Head Leonardo Rodrigo said.
Meanwhile, Municipal Mayor Diego Ty welcomed and recognized the efforts of DOLE Region X.
“We thank DOLE Region X, headed by Director Agravante, for providing us the fund for the livelihood projects of the different associations,” Mayor Ty said. This was echoed by Municipal Administrator Nestor Gonzales who also thanked the DOLE, for granting the livelihood assistance to the beneficiaries, adding that the project will benefit many low-income residents in the rural barangays and will surely improve their standard of living.
The municipality government will ensure maximum participation in the implementation and monitoring of the projects.
